Currently, I run a private practice in West Dorset, and work for Relate Dorset as a therapist for children, young people and individuals. I am also a partnership therapist for The Living Tree – a local self-help support group and charity supporting people who have experienced cancer – http://www.thelivingtree.org.uk/
I qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling in 2007 and also hold a Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents. I previously set up and managed a successful counselling service in a Bristol secondary school for almost 4 years, after which time I established my own private counselling practices in Dorset and Bristol. I have also worked for a children’s bereavement charity (www.mosaicfamilysupport.org.uk), two local authority Children’s Services Departments and Macmillan as a supervisor for their volunteers.
I have been practising yoga, meditation and mindfulness for several years and bring aspects of these to my work. I also enjoy working with clients in the natural environment, combining counselling and therapeutic approaches with elements of the natural world.
I am committed to and passionate about enabling people achieve their potential. I am aware that sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by challenges, and feel ‘stuck’ when we wish to make progress. I can help you identify goals that you wish to achieve and together we can explore how you can take the necessary steps to move from where you are now towards where you want to be.
My Integrative training course met the required standards in order to be fully accredited by the BACP, of which I am a fully Registered Member, and I work in conjunction with their Ethical Framework and Good Practice guidelines. My therapeutic work with clients is clinically supervised, and I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
